***I am prepared to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter***
Sir Winston Churchill
not that I am prepared to meet my Maker just yet...too much to do, too many people to see, too many things to make.....doll coming soon, promise....I do like churches tho....not sure why cos I don't go all the time but I like the peacefulness of them....this church is looked after by my loved one and it takes a lot of looking after that is for sure.....hard to get the scale of the building...the original was wooden and it was burnt down in the 11Th century by some not very nice people...they would have a hard job trying it out on this one.....nice to have some churches with the doors left open for the passer by to visit if they so wish......
toodleooooo.......
2 of your thoughts.....:
I love old churches, especially the little village ones, the older the better. They have that "smell" about them and if you're lucky the organist will be practising when you enter!
Great photo's Mandi, it is a lovley church that one, yet all the old churches are, (actually not all, the ones in England and Europe are, in Oz they are not as nice, different style).
There is nothing more delightful than a drive through the country lanes of England, all of a sudden you see the church standing out against the trees, simply perfect!
You just can't beat that.
