***who made this for whom***
which is what I keep wondering every time I put this huge quilt on the bed.....it has been hand done and I will have to repair a few stitches here and there but I don't mind....I found this super king sized quilt in the op-shop for £12 which in my mind is bargain....so much work has gone into cutting all those little sqaure which must have taken ageas never mind about the sewing time on top....my only query is how old it might be as I have no idea...do you have any ideas....I have not washed it cos far too big for my machine and I refuse to pay the cleaning prices here so will have to wait to stick it in the bath and put it to dry on the line....however that will have wait until the summer which is a way of now....I always imagine I will make something like this one day but for now it will remain just that .... in my imagination
till soon....toodleoooooo.....
1 of your thoughts.....:
That is amazing.........how long would that have taken....was it made for a gift? If so did the person love it? What a story it holds, in every stitch there remains the energy and love of the person who created this material master piece of sewing. I am glad you found it, and at such a bargin price to, op shops often hold magical treasures, if you are prepared to look that is (like us!)
